My Story

I live in Oxfordshire with my husband, two energetic boys, and cat Willow – who helps to balance out all the testosterone! I'm working part time and writing my second novel. My writing has themes and patterns so far, and I enjoy exploring real-life situations, friendship, love and how it can all go spectacularly wrong. But that's really OK!

When I'm not writing, I love boxercising to drum and bass , watching the boys play sport and stomping around my local fields listening to podcasts, or leaving very long voice notes for her friends to speed up.

My debut novel is released this summer and I hope to chat about all things writing over the next few weeks.

Local Oxford girl, Louise, is flawed, honest and real, and she no longer wants to be single. She wants to click with a man. Louise stumbles upon a risky love in the shape of Dan, but it’s doomed from the start. Dan is married with kids and can’t commit to her – yet. As Louise navigates the ups and countless downs of her new relationship, she leans on her friends, in particular Flint – the best friend a girl could ask for.

Louise must choose between the powerfully addictive passion she has for Dan and believing in the genuine love she could have with someone else, who could already be right in front of her.

Released on 20th August 2024

What Readers Have Said

‘I Didn’t See That Coming is a brilliantly relatable read from Sarah Whitton. It’s a nostalgic romp through the 90s and 00s, following Louise on her sometimes car-crash journey to a Happy Ever After. I laughed and cried and completely immersed myself in her story: so much of Louise’s story will resonate with midlife women who will remember their own car-crash twenties and thirties…A must-read for anyone who lived through those decades and  loved that music.
